Wheel of Fortune for stream chat with your own prizes
Build a prize wheel for your stream: points, timeouts, chat shoutouts or nothing at all. Viewers spin it from chat and it turns on your OBS overlay.
How a spin works
A viewer types !spin and pays the spin cost, 50 points by default. A segment is picked by its weight, the wheel turns for about six seconds on your overlay, and then the segment’s prize happens for that viewer.
A segment can give points, time the spinner out for a number of seconds, post a chat message such as a shoutout, or do nothing. Moderators are never timed out by the wheel.
You can also spin from the dashboard with “Spin now”, optionally for a named viewer, who then receives any points won. Dashboard spins are free.
Chat commands
Turn on “Moderators only (free spins)” to keep the wheel for your mods: they spin for free and other viewers are ignored.

Segments and prizes
The default wheel has eight segments: 50, 100 and 500 points, a 2000 point JACKPOT, a 60 second timeout, a shoutout message, Try again and Nothing. Each segment’s weight sets its share of the wheel, and the editor shows the percentage next to it.
Because you choose the prizes, the wheel has no fixed house edge. With the default prizes the average win is larger than the 50 point spin cost, which makes the wheel a way to hand points out. Raise the cost or trim the prizes to change that.
Points are your channel’s own virtual currency. They have no cash value and cannot be bought or paid out.

Set up Wheel of Fortune
- Turn on the points system on the Points page, or switch on “Play without points” on the Mini-games page if you want rounds without stakes.
- Open Mini-games in the dashboard sidebar and switch Wheel of Fortune on.
- Press Configure to change the rules, timing, look and every chat message the bot sends for this game.
- Use the Test button next to the overlay preview to play a practice round on your overlay. Test rounds never move points and never post in chat.
Show it on stream
Wheel of Fortune is already part of your all-in-one overlay, so if that browser source is in your scene there is nothing else to add. The game stays invisible until a round starts and fades out when it ends.
If you want to place the game on its own, copy the overlay URL from the game’s settings page and add it in OBS as a Browser source at the size shown next to the URL. Keep that URL private: it belongs to your channel.
The overlay only shows the result; the outcome is decided on the server with a cryptographic random number before the animation starts. If no overlay is open, the result is posted in chat straight away.
Questions
Is the wheel on the free plan?
Needs InstiBot Premium. On the free plan the game is shown with a lock and its command stays silent.
Does the timeout prize work on every platform?
It uses the platform’s own moderation, so it works where InstiBot can moderate. TikTok chat cannot be moderated by bots, so a timeout segment does nothing for TikTok viewers.
