Kick chatbot: commands, moderation, alerts and overlays

Set up InstiBot as your Kick chat bot: log in with Kick, mod the bot, add commands, timers, filters and alerts, and use Kick-only tools like !clip and analytics.

Set up the bot on Kick

  1. Log in to InstiBot with your Kick account. Your channel, the default commands and all moderation filters (switched off) are created on the first login.
  2. Type the command below in your Kick chat so InstiBot can chat freely. The dashboard checks it for you and shows a reminder until it sees the bot is a moderator.
  3. Add your first commands under Chat Bot → Commands, then turn on the moderation filters you want.
  4. Add the all-in-one overlay URL from the Widgets page to OBS as a Browser source to get alerts and games on stream.
/mod InstiBot

What InstiBot does on Kick

  • Chat commands, timers, counters, quotes and a public command list.
  • Moderation filters and a live mod console on the Stream control page.
  • Alerts for follows, subs, gifted subs, KICKs and raids, plus chat thank-you messages.
  • Loyalty points, a shop, mini-games, song requests, giveaways, polls and predictions.
  • Kick-only tools: the !clip command and clip markers, analytics and after-stream reports, Kick channel-points rewards, stream title and category updates, and a raid finder.

How chat and events arrive

InstiBot receives chat, follows, subscriptions, gifts, KICKs and live status through Kick’s official events. Raids come from Kick’s public chat feed. If chat or events ever stop arriving, Settings → Kick connection has Re-sync Kick events and Reconnect Kick account.

Kick doesn’t provide a list of older followers or of current chatters, so !followage counts follows InstiBot has seen and watch time is measured as time active in chat.

Chat under your own bot name

By default the bot chats as @InstiBot. On Premium the channel owner can switch it to a custom name, either through your own Kick developer app or a second Kick account. The Custom bot name guide walks through both.

Kick together with Twitch, YouTube and TikTok

Kick is one of four equal platforms. Connect the others under Platforms and the same commands, timers and points run on all of them; each platform also has its own switch to pause the bot there. A channel can even start on Twitch and add Kick later.

Questions

Is the Kick bot free?

Yes. Commands, timers, moderation, alerts, overlays and points are on the free plan. Premium adds things like a custom bot name, keyword commands and more mini-games.

Why does the bot say it isn’t a moderator?

Type /mod InstiBot in your Kick chat, or add it under Kick’s moderator settings, then press Check now on the reminder.

The bot stopped answering. What do I check?

Make sure the Chat Bot switch and the Kick switch on Platforms are on. If the dashboard shows a reconnect banner, reconnect Kick. A red banner shows the reason when Kick refuses a message.
