Boss Raid chat game: fight a boss together
Your chat stakes points to fight a boss as a team on your stream overlay. Beat it and every raider still standing wins, with a bonus for the MVP.

How a raid works
A boss appears and raiders join with a stake within 60 seconds. The boss’s health grows with the total stake. The fight then plays out over up to four rounds: every raider hits once per round, and bigger stakes hit harder. Between rounds the boss may strike back and knock raiders out.
If the boss falls, every raider still standing is paid 2x their stake, and the raider who dealt the most damage gets an extra MVP bonus. Raiders who were knocked out lose their stake even if the raid wins. If the boss survives, everyone loses their stake.
By default only moderators can open a new round (“Who can start a round” is set to Moderator). Viewers join a round that is already open. Change the setting to Anyone if viewers should be able to start rounds themselves, or let rounds open on a timer.
Chat commands
| Command | Who | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| !raid 100 | Anyone (to join) | Joins the raid with 100 points. |
| !bossraid 50 | Anyone (to join) | The alias. |
Difficulty and rewards
Choose Easy, Normal or Hard. Harder raids are lost more often; the result also depends on how many viewers join and how much they stake, so there is no fixed return. Write your own bosses with a name, a toughness and an icon, one per line.
Points are your channel’s own virtual currency. They have no cash value and cannot be bought or paid out.

Set up Boss Raid
- Turn on the points system on the Points page, or switch on “Play without points” on the Mini-games page if you want rounds without stakes.
- Open Mini-games in the dashboard sidebar and switch Boss Raid on.
- Press Configure to change the rules, timing, look and every chat message the bot sends for this game.
- Use the Test button next to the overlay preview to play a practice round on your overlay. Test rounds never move points and never post in chat.
Show it on stream
Boss Raid is already part of your all-in-one overlay, so if that browser source is in your scene there is nothing else to add. The game stays invisible until a round starts and fades out when it ends.
If you want to place the game on its own, copy the overlay URL from the game’s settings page and add it in OBS as a Browser source at the size shown next to the URL. Keep that URL private: it belongs to your channel.
The overlay only shows the result; the outcome is decided on the server with a cryptographic random number before the animation starts. If no overlay is open, the result is posted in chat straight away.
Questions
Is Boss Raid on the free plan?
Needs InstiBot Premium. On the free plan the game is shown with a lock and its command stays silent.
Does staking more help?
Yes. Each raider’s damage is proportional to their stake, so big stakes hit harder and are more likely to earn the MVP bonus. A knocked-out raider still loses the stake.
