Coinflip chat game: heads or tails for points
A fair heads or tails game for stream chat. Viewers call a side with their points, a 3D coin spins on your overlay, and a right call doubles the bet.

How a flip works
Coinflip is instant. A viewer calls heads or tails with a bet, the coin spins on the overlay, and a correct call pays the bet times the payout multiplier, 2x by default. A wrong call loses the stake. The coin is fair: heads and tails are equally likely.
Chat commands
Side and amount can be written in either order, and h or t work as short forms.
| Command | Who | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| !coinflip heads 100 | Anyone | Calls heads for 100 points. |
| !cf 100 t | Anyone | Short alias, calling tails. |
| !flip tails all | Anyone | Another alias, betting everything up to the maximum bet. |
Payouts and odds
With the default 2x multiplier coinflip is a fair game: it returns 100% of bets on average and the channel keeps nothing. Set the multiplier below 2 to give the house an edge, or above 2 to make it generous.
Points are your channel’s own virtual currency. They have no cash value and cannot be bought or paid out.
Settings you can change
| Setting | Default | What it changes |
|---|---|---|
| Payout multiplier | 2 | From 1 to 10. 2 means a win doubles the bet. |
| Minimum and maximum bet | 10 / no limit | The bet range. |
| Per-viewer cooldown | 10 seconds | Time before the same viewer can flip again. |
| Countdown before the game starts | 0 seconds | An optional “starting in” card. |
Set up Coinflip
- Turn on the points system on the Points page, or switch on “Play without points” on the Mini-games page if you want rounds without stakes.
- Open Mini-games in the dashboard sidebar and switch Coinflip on.
- Press Configure to change the rules, timing, look and every chat message the bot sends for this game.
- Use the Test button next to the overlay preview to play a practice round on your overlay. Test rounds never move points and never post in chat.
Show it on stream
Coinflip is already part of your all-in-one overlay, so if that browser source is in your scene there is nothing else to add. The game stays invisible until a round starts and fades out when it ends.
If you want to place the game on its own, copy the overlay URL from the game’s settings page and add it in OBS as a Browser source at the size shown next to the URL. Keep that URL private: it belongs to your channel.
The overlay only shows the result; the outcome is decided on the server with a cryptographic random number before the animation starts. If no overlay is open, the result is posted in chat straight away.
Questions
Is coinflip free?
Included on the free plan.
Is it really 50/50?
Yes. Each flip uses a cryptographic random number on the server, decided before the coin animation starts.
