Loyalty points for Kick, Twitch and YouTube chat
Reward your chat with InstiBot loyalty points: earn rules, bonuses, a points shop, leaderboards, seasons and commands like !points, !give and !redeem.
Turn on the points system
- Open Points in the dashboard sidebar and press Configure.
- Switch on “Points system enabled” and give your currency a name, such as “sticks”. The name appears in every bot message as $(pointsname).
- Set how many points viewers earn per interval and how often, then the follow and subscription bonuses.
- Save. Points start counting on the next active chat message while you are live.
How viewers earn points
Platforms don’t tell bots who is watching, so InstiBot rewards viewers who are active in chat. A viewer who chatted within the activity window (15 minutes by default) earns the interval amount, 5 points every 5 minutes by default, until that window passes since their last message. Viewers who never chat don’t earn. The same time is counted as their “time active in chat”, which !watchtime shows.
Points are only earned while you are live on at least one platform, unless you turn on “Earn while offline”. Every connected platform counts, and each platform account has its own balance: the same name on Kick and Twitch is two viewers.
| Way to earn | Default | Plan |
|---|---|---|
| Points per interval | 5 every 5 minutes | Free |
| Follow bonus | 50, once per viewer | Free (YouTube has no follow event) |
| Subscription bonus | 500 for every sub and resub | Free |
| Starting points for new viewers | 0 | Free |
| Points per chat message | Off | Premium |
| Subscriber multiplier | 1.5x on interval points | Premium |
| Gifted sub, KICKs/Bits/TikTok gift and tip bonuses | 250 / 100 per 100 / 50 per unit | Premium |
Keeping it fair
Turn on chat activity validation to stop viewers who repeat the same line or post on a timer from earning. Add names to Ignored users to keep them out of points and the leaderboard; bots are always ignored. Points never go below zero.

The points shop
Points → Store lets you sell rewards for points. Viewers buy with !redeem in chat or on your public shop page, where they log in with Kick, Twitch or YouTube. Each item has a cost, an optional stock, a limit per viewer and a cooldown, and can ask the viewer to type a text.
Items can do things automatically: play a sound, show an image or GIF, read a message with text to speech, post a chat message, time out a user, run a command or grant text-to-speech access. Items without actions, or with “Add to queue”, wait in the Sales log until you mark them fulfilled or refund them. Free channels can have 6 items with 2 actions each; Premium channels 150 items with 6 actions.
Leaderboards and seasons
Your public leaderboard shows the top 20 viewers on the free plan and the top 100 on Premium, for all time or for today, this week or this month. Premium channels can hide it.
Seasons reset every balance to zero on a schedule and keep the top ten in a hall of fame on the public page. On the free plan seasons run every 3 months; Premium adds weekly and monthly seasons.
Points, channel points and levels
InstiBot points belong to your channel on InstiBot. Kick and Twitch channel points are the platforms’ own currency; the Channel points tab lets you attach actions to those rewards. Levels and XP, under Chat Bot → Extras, are a separate progression that grows with chat messages.
Questions
Why isn’t anyone earning points?
The points system is off by default. Check it is on, that you are live (or “Earn while offline” is on), and that viewers have chatted within the activity window.
Do lurkers earn points?
No. Platforms don’t share who is watching, so points go to viewers who are active in chat.
Can points be turned into money?
No. Points are a virtual currency for your community and have no cash value.
