Crash chat game: cash out before the rocket crashes
Viewers bet points, watch the multiplier climb on your overlay and type !cashout before it crashes. Auto cash-out, house edge and a top multiplier are all yours to set.

How a round works
A round opens with 20 seconds to place bets. Then the rocket takes off and the multiplier climbs, doubling about every six seconds. Anyone who types !cashout before the crash is paid their bet times the multiplier at that moment. Anyone still in when it crashes loses their stake.
Viewers can set an automatic cash-out when they bet, for example 2x, and the bot cashes them out at that multiplier. The crash point is decided before takeoff, and a crash at 1.00x right away is possible.
By default only moderators can open a new round (“Who can start a round” is set to Moderator). Viewers join a round that is already open. Change the setting to Anyone if viewers should be able to start rounds themselves, or let rounds open on a timer.
Chat commands
| Command | Who | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| !crash 100 | Anyone (to bet) | Bets 100 points on the next flight. |
| !crash 100 2x | Anyone (to bet) | Bets 100 points with an automatic cash-out at 2x. |
| !cashout | Players in the air | Cashes out at the current multiplier. !co is the short form. |
Odds and the house edge
With the default 3% house edge, any cash-out target returns about 97% on average: higher targets pay more but are reached less often. At 0% the game is fair. The highest multiplier is 100x by default.
Points are your channel’s own virtual currency. They have no cash value and cannot be bought or paid out.
Settings you can change
| Setting | Default | What it changes |
|---|---|---|
| House edge | 3% | Higher means the rocket tends to crash earlier. |
| Highest multiplier | 100 | The cap, from 2 to 10,000. |
| Seconds to reach 2x | 6 | How fast the multiplier climbs. |
| Max total bets per round | No limit | Caps the points at stake in one flight. |
| Time until takeoff | 20 seconds | The betting window. |
| Time between rounds | 30 seconds | Counted from the last crash. |
Set up Crash
- Turn on the points system on the Points page, or switch on “Play without points” on the Mini-games page if you want rounds without stakes.
- Open Mini-games in the dashboard sidebar and switch Crash on.
- Press Configure to change the rules, timing, look and every chat message the bot sends for this game.
- Use the Test button next to the overlay preview to play a practice round on your overlay. Test rounds never move points and never post in chat.
Show it on stream
Crash is already part of your all-in-one overlay, so if that browser source is in your scene there is nothing else to add. The game stays invisible until a round starts and fades out when it ends.
If you want to place the game on its own, copy the overlay URL from the game’s settings page and add it in OBS as a Browser source at the size shown next to the URL. Keep that URL private: it belongs to your channel.
The overlay only shows the result; the outcome is decided on the server with a cryptographic random number before the animation starts. If no overlay is open, the result is posted in chat straight away.
Questions
Is crash on the free plan?
Needs InstiBot Premium. On the free plan the game is shown with a lock and its command stays silent.
Why did my cash-out pay less than the overlay showed?
Cash-outs pay the multiplier at the moment the server receives the message. Chat delay on the platform can make that a little later than what you saw.
