Troubleshoot your chatbot, timers and OBS overlays
Fix common InstiBot setup issues: missing chat replies, timers that do not fire, blank OBS widgets, missing events and account connections.
The bot is not replying
- Check the platform connection and whether it requests reconnection.
- Check both the global chatbot switch and the platform’s own enabled switch.
- Check command permissions, cooldowns, points cost and enabled state.
- Check moderator access when the action needs it. YouTube needs a live chat; TikTok cannot receive bot replies.
A timer is not firing
The interval, minimum chat lines and online/offline rule must all be satisfied. Timers also wait their turn to avoid a burst of messages. Lower the activity requirement temporarily when testing in a quiet channel.
A widget is blank or silent
- Use a test event; some widgets have nothing to display until triggered.
- Verify the source URL, dimensions, scene visibility and layer order in OBS.
- Check the OBS audio mixer and source audio settings for silent alerts.
- Refresh the source after saving settings and check the connection indicator.
Send a useful support report
Include the affected platform, feature, approximate time, the steps you tried and any visible error. A screenshot can help, but hide widget URLs, player links, payment details and other private information. Contact bot@instinckt.co.il.
